We all hope you will have a chance to read the stories we share of friends, family and others who served our country in times of war and times of peace.
Check each blog in the list and read of the courage, love, bravery and people.

There are some awesome bloggie gifts around too!
More on that in a bit.

My BillHubby is sort of obsessed with all things World War II.
His Dad served proudly, as did mine.

Imagine our delight upon finding a treasure trove of WWII history in an old box that belonged to my Great Uncle!

My Maternal Grand Daddy, his younger brother and their brother-in-law all served in the Navy during WWII.  Grand Daddy was the Naval Post Master in Morocco!  I wish he has lived long enough to answer all the questions I have had.  Seems like such an exotic assignment doesn't it?

But not nearly as exotic were the assignments served by my Great Uncle Sam (really, Uncle Sam!) and Great Uncle Henry.
Both were stationed aboard ships in the South Pacific.
Uncle Sam was a Torpedo man and Uncle Henry was a Machinist.

When Uncle Henry returned to his North Carolina home the Navy sent his belongings along in a wooden box.  I have that wooden box!

In it we found pictures, stationery, and some communications that we believe maybe should have been destroyed!
Here's a newspaper - December 11, 1943
 Here's  the cutest cocktail napkin!
 Souveniers from Hawaii
A Naval Training sheet on Japanese words the sailor might need.
I am proud to be related to so many brave folk who fought for all of our freedoms!
Thank you one and all.

Now for bloggie fun and giveaways.

There are two big Blog Hop Big Prizes!

The rules for entering are the same for both prizes:
Hop along our path and leave a comment AND a way to contact you on each and every stop.

Please leave contact information in a safe manner
(i.e. written out like beckysews [at]hotmail [dot] com)

On Friday, November 12, KarelJ will use random.org to first select a blog number (1-20) and then a comment number from that blog for each prize.

She will post the winner’s name on her blog and notify the bloggers, so they can also post the winner. KarelJ will contact the winner, using the information left in the comment.

If there is no information available, she will choose another winner from the same blog
It is up to the winner to contact KarelJ at ksjennings(at)gmail(dot)com.
If she has not been contacted by Monday, November 15, another winner will be chosen.

Our first prize is a wonderful Pink Scrap’Ntote to store your Cricut Cartridges in! It comes to us from Marlo, at ContainYaCrafts. You can see the wonderful way this binder system keeps all your carts together, and ready to go in a flash on this link: http://www.cricutcartridgestorage.com/index.htm They are simply flying out of stock! We got one of the final donations for the year, and are so grateful to Marlo!

Our second terrific prize is a set of Spellbinders Nesties in the Crown Circle Shape. It comes to us via the generosity of Anne, whose family has an incredibly strong military heritage. You can read more about Anne and her husband on Linda and Gina’s Blogs. You can also check out paper Patch Crafts here, to see what other incredible things Anne has to sell! http://stores.ebay.com/Paper-Patch-Crafts?_rdc=1

And I am offering your choice of a full or half apron made from these darling red, white and blue fabrics!   Sort of reminds me of the Poppies the Veterans sell today! There will be more goodies tossed in too!

Simply leave a comment here.

I'll use random.org to pick a winner on Friday too.

And please take time today to Thank a Veteran.

Now go, shoo, Blog Hop already!

Giveaways around BloggieLand and a Winner!!

While it's 100+ according to the Heat Index I have been busy staying inside and sewing!
I really do not like hot weather.

Here's one cutie little apron I made.  Reversible and child size with a fabric rose hair clip.
I love the precious Japanese fabric with those bunnies!!

Sunday I tried to play "catch up" on my bloggie reading.  Wow.  I was way behind.  And I still didn't finish but some Sunday afternoons just beg me to take a nap ;)

As I perused the vacations pics, the fun projects and all the latest bloggie news I found a few GiveAways that I thought you might want to enter.  Then again, if you don't enter my chances are better. heehee

First up - Angie of Mama Lusco Handmade is home from vacation with pictures!!
Beware - some are of a hot country singer!
She is giving away this adorable headband.
It's reversible too!

Next, I visited Elizabeth at Thoughts from an Evil Overlord.  Don't be skeert!  She really isn't evil.  As a matter of fact she's really sweet and loves to read.  She reviews books and often has an extra to give away. This time it's The Island by Elin Hilderbrand.

Finally, our friends over at Craft Gossip are having an amazing giveaway!
They are offering 3 Etsy shopping sprees
(each to a maximum value of $100).
They will also pay for shipping.
I am entering so here's my "Wish List!"

From Lisa and her adorable the hemline shop I am in love with this Lady in Red Bag!

Not very glamorous but I could use of the these cone thread holders from zipperstop.

vintagegoodness has this fab Hawaiian cat that I neeeeeeeed.

This sah-weet camera is in Found Eclectic's shop.

This oh so orange charm pack could be mine from Pleasant Home.

Local designer Sachi Ivy made these beauties!!
thlvintage has these bindings that I really, really need!

So there ya have it!  My wish list is done.
Maybe we can both win!!!

Oh yeah, my GiveAway!  I went back to the first method I used here in Bloggie land - our trusty drink shaker maker.

All the names went in and
Mindy is our winner!!!!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by!
Hope you have a fab week!

July is Almost Over?!? Giveaway

I am having one of those "where the heck did this month go?" moments.

Bill Hubby and I have been busy so time flies.
Following the July Celebration In Liberty, NC we set up at the Garner Arts and Crafts Festival.
Again, we met amazing crafts folk and some really nice customers.
Again, sales were disappointing.
Again, I think it was the heat.
We will be checking out more venues and let you know if we are setting up near you!

In the meantime, go peak at my etsy shop.  Lots of bibs, tissue covers, an apron and a couple of sets of coasters.
Plus, There are still a few days left for the
Christmas in July specials!!

I got a huge surprise today!
I was featured on The Apron Goddesses!
I don't know how they found me!
But dang what a sweet write up!
Thanks to the Ladies who are The Apron Goddesses!

Which brings me to another little announcement - I now have 99 Bloggie Friend Followers!!!

 I think it's time for a Give-away!

The Prize? Hmmm, One of my aprons of course!
Something in a retro fabric with a couple of kitchen towels to match!

Extra entries?
