ReplyDeleteProbably my mother's baked beans.
ReplyDeleteShe just gets the canned boston baked beans, but adds a tiny dash of tabasco and a fair bit of molasses when heating them up. Really makes them go well with barbecue (that's Texas style, where "barbecue" means barbecued meat with seasoning/sauce, not like up north or east where it means something cooked on a grill. Confused me greatly when I move to Boston).
ReplyDelete(and by "move" I mean "moved")

Patriotic gathering apron! And I see you're from NC... my father is too... so you understand what I mean by barbecue. My mother's baked beans would probably go well with your barbecue too, although there's not as much sugar/tanginess in your sauce.
ReplyDeleteand I hit like :)

ReplyDeleteA nice refreshing drink is Fuzzy Navel smoothie. It's more a method than a recipe, since you adjust everything to taste, but here it is: add ice cubes, peach syrup (I make mine) (or peaches or peach schnapps) and triple sec (or mandarin oranges or OJ or OJ concentrate) and a bit of sugar if needed.
