Where does time go? How is it already December 2009? Where are my other reading glasses? Why am I so very behind on getting projects finished? Do these jammy pants make my butt look big? What ever will I make for the Sew, Mama Sew December Give Away?
The answers are simple I think.
Dunno
The calendar says so.
Probably in the bathroom.
You ARE the Queen of Procrasty Nation!
Yes.
A Christmas Apron, of course!

You make have already guessed that my Favs are the all time standards, "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." They both debuted when I was a wee one and even as an adult I find both charming, funny and strong with the message of the strength of family and friends.
Now if I could just find a recording of the Peanuts Gang singing "Welcome Christmas!"
Nothing says it better than

ReplyDeletethanks for the giveaway.....i would love a new apron :) mfnusz@comcas.net
Oh...a give away...count me in!!! I love the Grinch, but I must say that the good old sappy 'It's a Wonderful Life' is my all time fave.
ReplyDeleteLiving it up at Lakewood,
Cindy
It would have to be Rudolph. The old timey clamation, Burl Ives' voice, the story, and the warm fuzzy feeling can't be beat. It always reminds me of being a little girl and looking forward to the Christmas specials that came on during the week. That is when you KNEW Santa was near. I gave birth to my first child this year and can't wait to show him Rudolph! ~Lisa
ReplyDeleteA Christmas Story:) Lovely prize!! Thanks!
ReplyDeletechristinbanda at yahoo dot com
Rudolph is my FAVORITE one. Why? Because of the dentist, of course! He makes me smile. And all the misfits. I love them and I want to hug each and every one of them!
ReplyDeleteHmmm...White Christmas for sure! I love Danny Kaye!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win such a great giveaway!
Merry Christmas!
mayhem5@softhome.net
My favorite, besides Charlie Brown, is A Wish for Wings That Work: A Bloom County Christmas. Opus helps Santa and his friends help him to fly. It's beautiful! It only aired one season and I thought I had imagined it. Bill and I gave each other the video for Christmas one year! Tee hee!
ReplyDeleteI really like the Grinch. Very nice message about over commercialization actually and the songs are a hoot. Happy Holidays.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember the name but it's little clay-mation job about how Santa becomes Santa and meets his wife. There is a mean guy named the Gergermister (sp?) but it's my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI think you can look at my profile to see my email? I found your blog on SewMamaSew! Favorite memory is Santa leaving little boxes of cereal for us to eat on Christmas morning.
ReplyDeleteThis is a tough choice but I must say How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Even before I saw the movie I had one of those books with a cassette tape that beeped when you had to flip the page and I was in love with the story then.
ReplyDeleteSarah0587@yahoo.com
You are so funny.
ReplyDeleteI love the Charlie Brown Christmas special. He's so wise as he searches for the meaning of Christmas, even as the other kids mock him.
I love the Charlie Brown Christmas. I even entertain my family by quoting lines from it around the holidays! :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorites are Rudolph and Twas the Night Before Christmas. We had them taped on an old VHS cassette. Watching them now brings back some great childhood memories. I couldn't wait to pop the tape in as soon as it got the slightest bit chilly outside. I've always loved this time of year.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!
coleslaw1017[at]gmail[dot]com

ReplyDeleteI love all the Christmas specials. Maybe Ntional Lampoons Christmas
ReplyDeleteI love aprons! And a Christmas apron would be divine!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas special is really a movie. Prancer. It stars Sam Eliot-- be still my country heart. And it is about a family and Christmas.
Thanks for the opportunity to win a CHRISTMAS APRON. Yipee
We always watch "Elf" at the beginning of the Christmas season. It doesn't come on TV, but it's still a family favorite! I'm excited about the apron! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteGrinch is our favorite. Love Jim Carey's version. Thanks for the giveaway and cute blog.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite christmas specials are Charlie Brown Christmas (I mean, who doesn't love it?), and Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer (the cheesy stop motion one made in the 60s). Another christmas video I love but have never seen on tv is The Snowman. You should look it up and watch it.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday movie is National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, but The Christmas Story is a close second. We watch them both every year. stephkucera(at)hotmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteDefinitely A Christmas Story, but if we're talking animated then it is How the Grinch Stole Christmas. They are both family traditions.

I love Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Claymation fun!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is A Year Without A Santa Claus. You can't beat Heatmeister! :)
ReplyDeleteWell in my mind the apron is beautiful, so I'm way excited. Your description sure was enticing!
ReplyDeleteChristmas special? As in, something on TV? Hmmm. Do I Love Lucy marathons count? Those used to be on during the holidays, but I don't see them much anymore. Otherwise... I guess I'd have to say something like The Polar Express. I've actually only seen the movie once or twice. It was good, but the book is SO good, so of course I had to like the movie.
I'm also having a giveaway on my blog Craft Phesine. Click on over if you're interested: www.phesine.blogspot.com
I like the Grinch the best. Probably the Jim Carey version. :)

ReplyDeletei am sure the apron will be great - it has ruffles.
my favorite is Frosty the Snowman! We love it because even though Frosty melts away, he will be back to play again the very next year... I used to cry when I was little and watched this, because it was so sad. My 8 yr old loves it and we watch it together every year with kleenex ready!
ReplyDeletemicaela6955 at msn dot com
Ooh, your question is too hard! That'd be a coin toss between Charlie Brown and Frosty.
ReplyDelete:-)

ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas movie is Elf. I really don't like Will Farrel, but there's just something so silly about it that makes me smile--especially that deadpan Bob Newhart. I turned off the TV 10 years ago so I don't know what specials are airing anymore, sorry!

ReplyDeletehttp://thelifeofthegirlnextdoor.blogspot.com/
My favorite Charlie Brown Christmas. A Classic! Thanks for letting me play!
ReplyDeleteWe love Charlie Brown Christmas. Last year we finally bought it. I love when the Peanut characters dance. I look for the dirt cloud around Pigpen (I think that is his name.) And I like the ones that dance and their heads bop side to side all the way over to their shoulders (like their heads are sideways-I hope that makes sense.) It is cute and funny. Probably best is that they do share the Christmas story too. I love when Linus tells it! Thanks for the chance to win the apron.
ReplyDeleteGuess that would be Rudolf the Red nosed Reindeer...the one with 'bumbles bounce' in it. The abominable snowman...my brother teases me about bumbles bouncing all the time.
ReplyDeleteRudolph, of course!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the new christmas special on ABC this week, Prep and Landing. Today I bought hot chocolate and cookies just for it!
