A VTT Love Story

No, not that Love Story!  My love story!

Not all the yucky mushy stuff but part of the glue that holds Bill and I together.  Sort of silly to some people, but we both love all things Mid-Century Modern.  If we could, we would have an Eichler 1950's ranch style house full of Eames, Knoll, and Saarinen furniture, George Nelson clocks, and other vintagy swanky swag.

We like to spend a lazy afternoon wandering through "junque" stores.  No fine antiquities for us.  Just trying to replace all the stuff our Moms threw out in favor of 1970's stuff. [shuddering at the thought of the styles and colors of my youth!]

After the Potluck Wedding Bash* at our house (July 22, 2006) we headed off to honeymoon in our state's first capital, New Bern, North Carolina.  There were numerous stops along the way as we spotted our kind of "junque" stores and other oddities.

My beautiful wedding ring is also an antique.  Not a family heirloom (yet) but it reminds Bill of his favorite architect - Frank Lloyd Wright.

We toured the beautiful Tryon Palace - which was our first Governor's Mansion.

Took lots of pics of old buildings and Church yards and had fabulous dinners in this beautiful old city.

I positively love this man!
Happy Valentines Day!

OH! I nearly forgot! Keep an eye on my blog for a product review coming soon.  The great folks over at csnstores.com are letting me review a product to introduce you to their 200+ stores.  These stores have everything from bar stools to house wares, baby and kids items, shoes, pet stuff, and home decor items!!

In addition to my review, I will have a drawing for a $40 certificate to use at any of their web stores!

Okay, now really I'm done!
Happy VTT! Go to Suzanne's Colorado Lady blog for more vintage thingys!

*We really did have a Potluck Wedding Bash!!  Since our kids are grown and we had all we needed to "keep house"  after combining two 3 bedroom houses we decided we just wanted lots of friends, family and food!  Our parents provided BBQ and fixins and our guests brought the sides!  Twas fun!
