Queen of Procrasty Nation

I am the absolute most sovereign Queen of Procrasty Nation!

If I can put it off then it probably will not get done.

I've been told I have Adult ADD. Whatevah! I just think there are so many interesting things to do! The world is full of possibilities!

I start the day with good intentions. The windows are naked except for some sheers. I have the fabric to make the curtains - oooh, looky at that bird at the feeder! What
is that? I must look it up. And before you know it I've read volumes on the birds native to North Carolina and the windows are still naked, the dishes aren't clean and the laundry pile has miraculously grown to the size of Stone Mountain (NC not GA!)

And let's not even talk about the near all-nighters I have pulled to finish a customer's order cause I was distracted by knitting or basketball or watching a movie with my sweet, understanding Hubby! (He also cooks and does dishes! I am one lucky gal!)

Here's one of my distracters!

Dang, that window needs cleaning...........................

Rainy days and Mondays...........

It's Monday! It's raining! It's all okay though.

We had a wonderful gathering of family and friends yesterday. Way too much food and all of it was fantastic! I made my (infamous) veggie chili in the crock pot. It cooked on low for 12 hours. The flavors really blend when ya do that.

Hubby made a new dip. He found the recipe in the local paper. It's called "Chicken Crack." Silly name but it was addictive. We all ate it up!

The embroidered towels were a big hit! Did not get the St. Pat's tablecloth finished in time for the party but will finish later today. First I gotta sew some patches on a ladies Karate jacket. And shorten her sleeves.

Rainy Mondays are perfect for staying inside and catching up on the sewing and old movies! Or Law and Order re-runs. Talk about addictive!

Oh It's Saturday!

Oh-oooohhhhh! It's Saturday! It's Saturday!
Ha nah nonnie and a hah cha cah!

Totally stole that song from Spanky of the original Our Gang short features! Used to sing it to wake up the kids on Saturdays.

And what a fine Saturday it is! Temps in the 30's, clouds and rain, Daughter is on her way home. Perfect weather for watching Basketball on TV all day!

We're huge Atlantic Coast Conference fans here. I was raised on Wake Forest and attended Clempzin. Hubby is a TarHeel grad and I raised the kids in Chapel Hill. It's a very mixed marriage and family.

I'm finishing up some embroidery for a friend.
Cute huh? These are the fluffiest towels evah! Sort of tough to lock into the hoop but dang these are purdy?

Gotta finish these and then whip up a St. Patrick's theme table cloth. We're having an Ides of March St. Patrick's Day ACC Tournament Final Game Pot Luck Party here tomorrow.

Clothing required.

Green togas optional!

We love our Pot Luck parties. Ya never know what you'll end up eating but it is always good!

Let's get this party started!

I have been told that I am funny. You know funny-haha, not funny-weird. I dunno. I just say what's on my mind without a whole lot of censoring. Heck, the other day I dropped the f-bomb whilst on the phone with my Mom. So glad she was talking at the same time! I'm nearly 50. I should know better!

Anyways, some of my friends think I can tell a good (and true) story. I think a lot is lost in translation when I write the tales I tell. We'll see what you, the blog reading public, thinks.

I read a few blogs myself. I find myself returning to the ones that seem open and honest and full of sewing ideas!

I sew.

I sew for a living. What I make is boring - bed skirts, pillows and shams. Not much of a challenge after a while.

I sew for others. Alterations are a drag but it's good gas money. I drive a truck that currently needs an alternator. :(

I sew for my self and my family. Now that's only when I have some spare time. Who has spare time? I do if I don't sleep or if I put off a real job.

So let's get this party started. I have blabbed enough for now. In this space you will soon find pictures of my "works in progress" (wip), you'll meet my family and friends and hopefully I can share a bit of what I know about the gentle "Domestic Arts."

Later,
Becky
